Former Stockton resident Robert “Bob” L. Brungardt, 84, of Seward, Neb., passed away on November 8, 2022, in Lincoln, Nebr., at the age of 84 years.

He was born on June 27, 1938, to Mike and Mary (Kaberlein) Brungardt in Russell, Kansas.

He graduated from Gorham High School in Gorham, Kansas in 1956. He served in the United States Army from July 17, 1957, to May 6, 1958.

Bob worked in retail management for 50 years, retiring in 2010. Many will remember him as the owner and operator of the Ben Franklin store in Stockton in the 80s and early 90s.

Bob enjoyed playing cards and watching sports in his free time, especially the Denver Broncos and St. Louis Cardinals. 

He was a St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church member and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School.

He is survived by his stepsons, Troy (Suzanne) Dixon of Aurora, Neb., and Trent (Raquel) Dixon of Plano, Texas; stepgrandchildren, Hailey Dixon and Jacob Dixon; and sister-in-law, Ruth Brungardt of El Dorado. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Mary Brungardt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond Brungardt, Clem (Beatrice) Brungardt, Richard Brungardt, Joe (Mary Lou) Brungardt; sister, Maggie Liekam; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor (Sylvester) Kuhn. 

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward, Neb.

Interment was in Seward Cemetery in Seward.
