Still plenty to do and see at the Rooks County Free Fair!

The Rooks County Free Fair started off with the Demolition Derby on Sunday evening with Monday filled with music and fun when the KZNC Party DJs took the stage under the Solutions North Bank Pavilion, and the first night of the Inflatable Carnival was held.

Now on Tuesday (August 8th) the FREE Ranch Rodeo will take place in the Frank Smith Arena starting at 7:00 p.m. Then on Wednesday and Thursday evenings (August 10th and 11th) the grandstand will be the place to be for the IMCA Stock Car Races. Featureraces will begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening. Ticket prices are $15.00 for Adults, $10.00 for Children ages 6 to 12 years of age, and FREE for Children 5 and Under. And finishing off the great grandstand events lined up for this year’s fair will be the ever-popular motorcycle races on Friday and Saturday nights (August 12th and 13th) starting at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $10.00 for Adults, $5.00 for Children ages 6 to 12 years of age, and FREE for Children 5 and Under. (The grandstand gates will open an hourprior to the stock car races and the motorcycleraces.)The Inflatable Carnival will be open to the public for one more evening on Tuesday night (August 9th) from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Inflatable Carnival armbands are priced at $5.00 per night.

And the rest of the musical lineup starts in again on Wednesday night (August 10th) with The Box Turtles set to take the stage. This musical group was a Kansas State Fair “Rock the Fair” semifinalist. Cole Harris will appear on Thursday, (August 11th) with Zach Neil to perform on Friday (August 12th).

Jimmy Dee & The Fabulous Destinations will be ready to rock ‘n roll on Saturday night (August 13th). Always a great way to end the week of the Rooks County Free Fair!

Other morning and afternoon ac- tivities will have plenty for everyone to enjoy! The Sand Castle Contest located by the SNB Pavilion will be held on Tuesday, August 9th starting with registration at 1:00 p.m. On Wednesday, August 10th, the Knights of Columbus Bingo will held under the SNB Pavilion between 2:00p.m. and 4:00 p.m. followedby the FREE Watermelon Feed at 4:00 p.m. The Youth Pet Parade will be held at the Sutor-Blauer Arena at 5:30 p.m. On Thursday, August 11th, the Ag Science Lab will take place at 4:00 p.m. Then on Friday, August 12th and Saturday, August 13th, the Manhatchet Axe Throwing will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on both evenings. Also on Friday, the 4-H Livestock Sale willbegin at 6:00 p.m.Get ready to fill your weekday afternoons by checking out what’s on display in the 4-H to Open Class buildings, and take in the livestock, flowers, wheat, vegetables, crafts, sewing, cooking, photography, art and much more!

Commercial Vendors will be open daily from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Mc-Caslin Hall.
