I SEE. Our eyes are incredibly remarkable gifts from our infinitely incredible Creator. Though they weigh only an ounce, God packed extraordinary complexity into each of our eyes. Our eyes receive and then transfer vast amounts of information every second into our even more complex threepound brains. Light passes through the cornea, the pupil, and then through the lens. This focuses the light onto photoreceptors (six million cone cells for color and 100 million rod cells for blacks and grays) in the back of the eye. The photoreceptors then create electrical impulses that travel through the optic nerve to the brain, which then translates all the information into images. Oh, and the brain receives images upside-down and flips them so that we see them right-side up. Amazing! In my opinion, the eye alone annihilates belief in evolution and screams out the reality of our all-wise Creator. No wonder David exclaimed, 'I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well' (Psa. 37:14). It was Solomon who said, 'The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The LORD has made them both' (Prov. 20:12). Even as fine of detail as our eyes can see in this life, we can't see past this life nor the glories that await true Christians in eternity. Paul says, 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him' (1 Cor. 2:9). But one of the most blessed truths concerning eyes is this 'And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away' (Rev. 21:4). It was blind Fannie Crosby who wrote, 'And I shall see Him face to face, And tell the story- Saved by grace.' This life has its tears. But a better day is coming for those who, through the eye of faith, can truthfully sing 'Saved by Grace!'

In John 18:33-36, Roman ruler Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus told him, “My kingdom is not of this world.” Most people did not understand this at all. The Jews sought a king to save and free them from Roman rule. But Jesus went on to say, “I came to bring truth to the world.” The meaning of “truth” was lost on them.

Crossroads Quilt Guild

Body
The monthly meeting of the Crossroads Quilt Guild was held on February 19th at 6:30 p.m. with our annual potluck. The meeting was brought to order at 7:00 p.m. with 17 members answering roll call. Several items were shown off in our Show and Tell. Correspondence was a thank you note from the Stockton Church or Restoration for the donation in the name of the Elda Hamit memorial, which will go to their elevator fund. Diane Maddy gave the Treasurer’s Report with no bills presented. Jennifer Guffey made the motion to approve, and Connie Haselhorst seconded it. The motion carried. Sew Days for Plainville had eight in attendance, and Stockton had five in attendance. The next Sew Days are March 9th for Stockton and March 13th for Plainville. During Old Business, the t-shirts are in, and if you want one, please see Terrii Collins. Our Opportunity Quilt was won by Betty Bedore’s grandson in Kingman, Kansas. The baby quilt will be given out next month since our couple had other plans and could not attend the meeting. Under New Business, make checks to Crossroads Quilt Guild for the $15.00 dues. Committee reports included a discussion for the Fair booth, which will be a roundrobin. All participants will add a border to the quilt they receive for six weeks. These will be displayed in the Guild booth during the Rooks County Fair. The motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Diane Maddy and seconded by Jennifer Guffey. The Guild then had our Christmas gift exchange. Next month’s meeting will be held on March 18th at 6:30 p.m. with hostesses Karen McCune and Diane Maddy.—Sent In by Secretary Terrii Collins
