With some local contested races during this year’s election, the Stockton Sentinel is asking the public for questions they would like to ask the candidates. If you have a question you would like the candidates to answer, please email your questions to HYPERLINK "mailto:stkpaper@ruraltel.net" stkpaper@ruraltel.net before July 10th for consideration. The Sentinel will then send out a questionnaire to the candidates, which will include some or all of the questions it receives from the public for an article that will appear in the July 30th edition before the primary election, which is set for Tuesday, August 4th.

The contested races on the local level that we are seeking questions for at this time are for the position of District Magistrate Judge, 23rd District, Position 2 between incumbent Douglas (Doug) E. Bigge, Stockton, and Nolan Weiser, Plainville; Rooks County Commissioners District 2 between incumbent John J. Ruder, Plainville, and Ernest J. Hammerschmidt, Jr., Plainville; and Rooks County Commissioner, District 4 between incumbent Corky Hagan, Plainville, and Tim J. Berland, Damar.

On the general election ballot in November there will be three candidates vying for the two open seats on the Stockton City Commission currently held by Don McLaughlin and Sandi Rogers. The contestants are Adam R. Bryant, Leo Inglsbee, and Jesica Kerr. The Sentinel will be asking for questions from the public to present to these candidates in late October.
