Hello from Topeka.
We will be at first adjournment this week, then off for two weeks, and come back to finish work on the budget, look at what bills the Governor will veto, and see if action will be taken to override. So here are a few of the highlights from the last week:

I enjoyed seeing all of you who came to the town halls we had throughout the district; great attendance and many issues were discussed. Glad to have State Senators Billinger and Bowers and State Representative Barb Wasinger at some of the stops.
We are in the final two weeks before the First Adjournment of the session. There are many things that we will vote on and some that did not make the cut, so they may be attempted next year. Here are a few of the things that happened:

It may seem hard to believe, but the legislature is now fully ten weeks into its session and has just two weeks before “first adjournment.” We will adjourn briefly before returning to wrap up the regular part of the session with the veto session beginning April 26th and the target date ending April 28th.
