Jean LaVon Hunt passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kansas, at the age of 93.

She was born on October 8, 1926 to William and Myrtle (Sines) Lafferty in Otis, Colorado. She grew up in Marion, Nebraska and attended Danbury High School where she graduated with the Class of 1945.

On August 9, 1945 she married Jesse Hunt. The couple moved to Palco in 1970 where she was a homemaker and raised their children. For many years she was a member of the Redline Church of God in Palco.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Lafferty; husband, Jesse Hunt; children, James Hunt, Dorothy Lawver, and two infants; siblings, Virgil, Cecil, Kenneth, and Wayne Lafferty, and Lois Myers.

She is survived by her children, Jerry (Betty) Hunt of Wichita, KS, KayLynn (David) Rogers of Newton, KS, and Jane (Rod) Rudman of Halstead, KS; a sister, Evelyn Stinnett of McCook; and ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Nebraska at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Plainville.
