Candidates for 2006 Stockton High School Prom were Derry Dibble, Heath Muir and Levi Earl, Rachel Moll, Savannah Lowry and Lizzy Moll.

It was probably a twoyear-old Isaac Reed shown picking up eggs at the Sigma Phi ESA annual Easter Egg Hunt.

The turkey he shot was almost bigger than the young Richard Schleicher, pictured with his dad, Harold Schleicher, and Gary Isam.

An accident involving three vehicles occurred the morning of April 18, one mile north of Plainville on Highway 183. Involved were a 2000 Ford Windstar van driven by Patricia Weidenhaft of Stockton; a 2009 Dodge pickup driven by James Urban of Ellis; and a 2002 Chevy Malibu driven by Ernest Thacker of Phillipsburg. All three drivers were transported to Rooks County Health Center with possible injuries. Urban and Weidenhaft were treated and released.

The Sentinel Spotlight focused on the Senior Projects of Jed States, Lizzy Moll, Whitney Inglsbee, Mat Beougher, Mitchell Kuhlmann, Rachel Moll, Kaley Wieden, Levi Earl, and Alaina Dix. Jed States job shadowed Lee Smith, tattoo artist at Fantasy Graphics in Hays for his Senior Project. Senior Lizzy Moll stepped out of her comfort zone and decided to learn how to hunt deer for her senior project, with her mentor being her brother, Lucas. Whitney Inglsbee asked Gloria Pulec to be her mentor and decided to learn the art of crocheting. Mat Beougher was interested in Youth Ministry and chose Lewis Smith, a youth minister for Teens for Christ in Phillipsburg, to be his mentor. Mitchell Kuhlmann asked local artist Robert Wise to teach him the techniques of airbrushing. Rachel Moll asked her sister, Sarah Harrison, to be her mentor and teach her how to crochet. Kaley Wieden had an interest in the field of nursing and chose to job shadow Mary Moore, a Hospice nurse. Levi Earl chose to learn to play the guitar and asked Rayford Franklin to be his mentor. Alaina Dix asked Barb McClain to be her mentor in an interior design to update her parents’ kitchen.

Tiger golfers Grant Kollman, Heath Muir and Trey Kellner all medaled in the Plainville Golf Tournament held April 17 at Cedar Links Golf & Country Club.

Carlos Gallaway broke the Stockton 8th-grade boys’ school record in the 3200M Run at the Smith Center track meet April 6, 2006. Dustin Lowry’s school record was set in 1996 with a time of 13:16:39. Gallaway took first place with a time of 13:13:15.

Taking second place in the Northwest Snooker League tournament held at Phillipsburg on March 8 was The Office team from Stockton. On the team were Alan Green, Kent Johnston, Bob Berens, Cecil Johnston, Rick Lowry, Doug French, Rick Waters, Joey Bellerive, Dustin Lowry and Joe Yakish.

56 Years Ago, Spotlighting the Year... 1950 — The community rolled up another series of tragic wrecks during the week which resulted in two deaths, one critically injured, six others hospitalized and others less seriously injured. The lives claimed in one of the accidents were George Buchanan and Owen C. “Shine” Hilgers.

What Stocktonites Were Doing 98 Years Ago, Spotlighting the Year... 1908 — An elegant new front is being put in the building vacated by the J. H. Keys Clothing Co. and everything furbished up for the occupation of the room by the Butler & Vallette Clothing Co. The building is owned by G. A. Higgins.
