TOPEKA—A car was pulled out of a pond on Monday, September 10th, after it was involved in a two-vehicle crash at a west Topeka Intersection at SW 6th and Gage. Police said a black Chevrolet Malibu and a red Dodge pickup truck collided in the intersection.

SALINE COUNTY—A Kansas teen, seventeen-year-old Cadence Halfhill of Ellsworth, was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday, September 3rd, on North Brookville Road in Saline County. According to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, Halfhill was traveling southbound in the 2800 Block of North Brookville Road when her 1997 Ford Explorer tire dropped off the edge of the roadway, causing her to swerve.

RAWLINS COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating alleged cattle theft in northwest Kansas. According to a media release from the sheriff's office, a member of the Kansas Livestock Association reported that 17 head of 200-350 pound calves were stolen in mid-July ten miles northeast of Atwood.

TOPEKA—Governor Laura Kelly has announced that Kansas has been chosen to participate in the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) Policy Academy to advance Youth Apprenticeship. Through this initiative, Kansas will devise a strategy to broaden apprenticeship opportunities for young people aged 16 and over.

COFFEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating the random killing of a cow in a Kansas pasture. On July 3rd, the Coffey County Kansas Sheriff learned about a cow that had been killed in the pasture.
