Man facing multiple charges for police/motorcycle chase

According to a press release from the Rooks County Sheriff’s Department, on Tuesday March 24, at approximately 12:12 a.m., a Rooks County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle inside the City of Plainville for a traffic violation. The motorcycle fled southbound out of the City of Plainville on Highway 183 at speeds in excess of 110 m.p.h.

In the area of AA Road and Highway 183, the driver lost control of his motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot. Rooks County K9 Koda was deployed and apprehended the suspect without incident. The suspect, Leonard Ramsey (DOB: 05/22/1976), was arrested on the following charges:

K.S.A 21-5904(a3)(b5) (A) Interference with LEO; obstruct/resist/oppose felony warrant service or execution: STAT

K.S.A 8-287(1) Driving while a habitual violator; 1st conviction: STAT

K.S.A 40-3104(a)(g)(1) Vehicle liability insurance; Liability coverage required: STAT

K.S.A 8-1802 Defective motorcycle tail lamp: STAT

K.S.A 8-1548 Unsafe turning or stopping; Failure to give proper signal: STAT

K.S.A 8-1519 Driving on left side of roadway prohibited: STAT

K.S.A 8-1528 Failure to yield at stop or yield sign: STAT

K.S.A 8-1558 Maximum speed limits: STAT

K.S.A 8-1545 Improper turn or approach: STAT

K.S.A 8-1514 Driving on right side of roadway required: STAT

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
