During her report at the Stockton City Commission meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd, city clerk Kayla Hilbrink stated there are city board positions open, so if anyone is interested in serving on a board, they should contact the City office. She also noted that the auditors had been at the office.

Hilbrink attended a childcare meeting with the Stockton Childcare Coalition. They are moving ahead with a grant application at this time.

The bathrooms at the city park have been opened for the summer season.

Hilbrink ended her report by stating that the City has received a good response to the lead surveys it sent out.

At the start of the meeting, the commissioners approved the Consent Agenda, which included the Solomon Valley Manor gross payroll for $64,032.20, the Solomon Valley Manor warrants for $90,122.76, the City of Stockton payroll for $84,672.14, the City of Stockton warrants for $219,688.09, and the March 19th regular meeting minutes with an addition to the minutes as discussed.

Under New Business, Linda Adam with the Conservative Alliance of Rooks County, presented information about the grassroots organization to the commissioners. She also invited them to an upcoming meeting with Kansas Speaker Of the House Dan Hawkins.

Next, the commissioners approved the building permits for Heartland Building Center to replace the signs by the road and on the building and for Susan Bunch to replace her deck and add an awning. They also approved a building permit for Chet Look for a garage/shop, noting the approval of the zoning appeals board setback.

Hilbrink presented the commissioners with the updated propane ordinance 1692 for approval, which follows state regulations. The commissioners approved the ordinance as presented before the meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m.

Commissioners Nathan Glendening, Jesica Kerr, Adam Bryant, Bob Becker, clerk Kayla Hilbrink, and assistant clerk Brook Dix were present for the meeting. Commissioner Reesa Brown was not in attendance.
