Colton Williams is the epitome of what people call a budding entrepreneur. He started his business, Williams Lawn and Junk Removal in 2019, which might not seem like a big deal to most, but factor in that he started it when he began high school, and that says a lot about his work ethic and character, and his goals for himself.

Plus Williams states, “I started my business because I like being my own boss.”

With any business venture, since he was a one-man operation starting out, Williams began small with lawn mowing and yard cleanup jobs.

His business has now grown to the point that he has employed Julie Hartner, who works alongside him on the job sites. The two focus on landscaping, junk removal and helping people move.

Yes, he offers his customers the moving service, from helping them move to their new location to preparing their old residence to sell. He has done everything from painting to cleaning up the interior and exterior of the house to a total yard refresh. And Williams has moved people around the state or wherever they plan to relocate. “I will travel anywhere for my customers,” he states.

Some of the services his ever-growing business offers includes mowing, trimming, edging, leaf/grass blowing, hedge trimming, tree trimming, landscaping, mulching, flower beds, rock beds, garden beds, general yard cleanup, snow removal, paver retaining walls, junk removal, disaster cleanup, power washing, installing fences, garage cleanup, lawn seeding, sprinkler systems and dirt work.

Williams plans to expand on the dirt work and construction side of the business, noting that he does driveways, levels yards, does culvert and drainage work, and has also dug out a few small ponds. Some of his projects have been the landscaping at the Stockton Public Library with contracts for snow removal for The Daily Grind, Stockton Estates and Kester Auto Parts, LLC. Williams not only does business snow removal, but residential as well.

When Williams is not attending school or working on a job, he volunteers at the Nova Theatre and for the Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce. And if you don’t think he is busy enough, he has recently launched his second business, ROHO Estates, LLC. The back-story for the ROHO name stands for R to match his red hair, and also Rooks County Housing. Williams wanted a name that, as the company grows, will always stand for his hometown and his red hair.

Williams is now in the process of purchasing houses for rental property or to sell. Williams sees the need in Stockton for affordable houses to rent or buy, and he hopes to be the one person who gets things started in that direction for the town.

No job is too big or small to ask Williams about. People can contact him by leaving a message at 785-4258300 or finding his business on Facebook.

Williams’ dream is to one day build a factory outside of Stockton to bring in jobs. His goal after he graduates this spring is to keep expanding his business and grow it into an empire, and it is a goal he is destined to achieve.
