William Duane Conger

William Duane Conger, 94, passed away May 7, 2023, at Kansas Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge.

He was born on December 28, 1928, in Natoma, Kansas, the son of William and Bethina (Hoskins) Conger.

Duane spent his childhood in Natoma, where he attended school. He continued his education at Fort Hays State University and later at Phoenix, Arizona Theological School. Duane enlisted in the United States Army on February 3, 1953. He was honorably discharged on January 11, 1955. Duane worked in construction throughout his life. He married Hazel May Cook on August 16, 1962. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2006.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and three United States Army siblings, Grant, Ardna, and Ruth.

A Graveside Service was held at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, with military honors provided by KSARNG Military Honors and American Legion 8th District Honor Guard.
