This And That
* I always write about the music I love but haven’t said much about Country singers. Well, I have quite a few favorites in that genre as well, starting with who I can think of off the top of my head: Toby Keith, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Charley Pride, Marty Robbins, Travis Tritt, Montgomery Gentry, Alabama, and The Judds.
* I have to agree with this person….“If it gets cold out one more time, I am going to put my Christmas tree back up.
* Here is another one…..“I know I joke a lot, but on a serious note, I need everyone to wish me luck. I have a meeting at the bank later, and if it is a success, I will be out of debt and own everything I have now. I’m so excited I can barely put on my ski mask.”
* One of my favorite songs is Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl.” Here is an update since it was released 43 years ago. “If she’s still watching him with those eyes, she’s got readers on. I just know it.”
* Who is old enough to remember getting a 45 record on the back of a cereal box?
* Since I am reminiscing, did your grandma or mom do this? If she had leftover dough from making piecrusts from scratch, did she roll it out, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on it, cut it into strips, and bake it? I liked them best right out of the oven.
* I still do this. When we were young, my mom and dad would shut off the lights when leaving a room because they didn’t want to waste electricity.
* I think I might have said this before, but the cartoon “The Jetsons,” really did predict our future, as well as “Dick Tracy.” The Jetsons had Zoom meetings, online exercise classes, teledoctors and face time. Dick Tracy had wristwatch phones.
* I still wish I had the jelly jars that became a drinking glass after the jelly was gone. I can remember “Peanuts” being one of the designs.
* Shame on you LSU women’s basketball team! * I am going to try this shower hack. Purchase a Dish Wand. Fill 50% with soap and the other 50% with vinegar. It is supposed to remove soap scum, lime scale, etc.
* Why English is so hard to learn….“He could lead if he would get the lead out.”
