* For all those years, I thought I watched Jeopardy because I liked the show since it is so challenging, and it is always fun to learn new things. That was never the case because I have not watched a single episode since the passing of Alex Trebek.

* After actor Jeremy Renner’s (Hawkeye) snowplow accident, I can now say I know who the strongest Avenger is!

* I think my favorite song, for the time being, is Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”

* Groundhog’s Day is a popular North American tradition observed in the United States and Canada on February 2nd. The practice is from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and sees its shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat into its den, and winter will go on for six more weeks. Spring will arrive early if he does not see its shadow because of cloudiness. I can’t wait to dig in the dirt! (FYI: Since they have been taking stats on the groundhog’s predictions, he is about 30-40% correct. He could be our weatherman.)

* Happy birthday to Libby, my Nova Theatre partner in crime!

* Why are people happy when gas prices go down a few cents? Three years ago, the average gallon of gas was around $2.00. Eggs were $1.00, and inflation was less than 1%.

* The Lincoln event at the Nova Theatre this past Sunday was excellent. Quite a few people braved the snow and cold to attend. The Nova and the Rooks County Historical Museum are teaming up again in April to host the 50th anniversary of the movie, “PAPER MOON,” which was filmed in Kansas. Ryan O’Neal and his daughter, Tatum, were the movie stars.

* Looks like the Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for some fun new happenings this year, and working on continuously improving the tremendous annual happenings.
