* I read this about the Kansas City mayor suggesting racism after the Missouri governor called the Chiefs Parade shooters “thugs.” All I can say is know your history and get educated people! The definition of a thug is “a violent, aggressive person, especially one who is a criminal.” Historically, a thug means “a member of a group or organization of robbers and assassins in India who waylaid and strangled their victims, usually travelers, and stole their belongings. They were suppressed by the British in the 1830s.” The slang for thug is “a bad guy or bully, especially a violent one.” I agree with the governor, those shooters were thugs.

* Only the very elite will get this! I saw a black Nissan Juke with the license plate “B0X H3RO.

* I was already tired of Beyonce’s country song before I even heard it.

* The world-renowned Harlem Globetrotters will be performing in Hays on March 26th! I want to brag a little and say I was fortunate enough to have seen this great team of performers when the legendary Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal were in the lineup! Yes, I am that old!

* I love to read articles and see pictures of the Kansas City Chiefs, but I want to say this: “You don’t have to cut down on the pictures of Mahomes and Kelce, but I sure would like a few more of Pacheco, Butker, Clark and the rest of the crew when I see a Chiefs article.”

* If you don’t know who Laken Riley was, you should. * I liked this question. It’s 1969, what car are you buying? The Ford Mustang Boss 302, the Plymouth Roadrunner A12, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the Mercury Cougar Eliminator, the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the Dodge Charger R/T, the Chevrolet Corvette, the Pontiac GTO Judge, or the Oldsmobile Toronado? My choices are a Mustang or a Corvette.

* Yes, Spring is just around the corner, but don’t SPRING into garden clean-up too soon. Wait until temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees. Many butterflies, bees and other pollinators are currently wintering in dead leaves and hollowed out stems of last year’s plants. Let Them Bee!

* Just so you know, the secret ingredient is always cheese!
