THIS AND THAT

* A GOAT Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions will begin on January 7th with the top three winners of all time! Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer will go head-to-head in the tournament. It will consist of a series of back-to-back games, and the player with the highest combined score/money from the two games wins the “match.” The tournament will continue on successive nights until one of them has won three matches and takes home the grand prize of one million dollars. That means the tournament can last anywhere from three to seven days. (I am hoping for the full seven days!) Between the three champions they have won over ten million dollars in prize money, and have played over 100 games.

* Yes, I am looking forward to a few movies coming out on the big screen in the next couple of months! The first is “Dolittle” starring Robert Downey Jr. The second one is “Call of the Wild” starring Harrison Ford!

* Okay, does anybody else do this? Sometimes when my fingers are cold while I am waiting for my toast in the morning, I put my hands over the toaster to warm them up.

* I am enjoying my Disney+. I am now watching the first season of the “Spin and Marty” TV series. Then it’s on to the “Zorro” series!

* I saw this sign and had to pass it along….“Texting while driving—Oh, cell no!”

* And I love this one….“If you are ever attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler.”

* And a huge salute to Gary Sinise who played Lieutenant Dan in “Forrest Gump.” He is not a real life veteran, but he is a staunch advocate for them and their families. Every December since 2006, the Gary Sinise Foundation arranges an all-expenses-paid Disney World trip for the children and spouses of military personnel who’ve died since 9/11. The trip is called “Snowball Express.” This year the Foundation, in partnership with American Airlines, sent more than 1,700 children/widows/widowers to Disney World for five days. Please check out the Gary Sinise Foundation to learn more about all of the events and programs this wonderful organization oversees throughout the year for our veterans. I have supported this Foundation for quite a long time, and wanted to remind all of you about this worthwhile organization.
