Leighton Colburn wins Osborne Invitational Spiller, Knoll and Howell finish third

Stockton junior Leighton Colburn kicked off the 2019-20 wrestling season in successful fashion, winning the 138-lb. weight class at the Osborne Invitational last Saturday. En route to the championship, Colburn won by a fall over his first four opponents, before defeating Zeke Haag of Ellis, 16-12, in the finals.

Junior Markeis Spiller

(120), freshman Justin Knoll (126), and senior Trenton Howell (132) each captured third place. As a team, the Tigers finished seventh with 82.5 points. Hill City won the Invitational with 191 points, with Phillipsburg (147.5) and Smith Center (147.5) rounding out the top three.

This Friday Stockton will travel to Ellis with action beginning at 3:00 p.m.
