Former Stockton resident Robert “Bob” L. Brungardt, 84, of Seward, Neb., passed away on November 8, 2022, in Lincoln, Nebr., at the age of 84 years.

He was born on June 27, 1938, to Mike and Mary (Kaberlein) Brungardt in Russell, Kansas.

He graduated from Gorham High School in Gorham, Kansas in 1956. He served in the United States Army from July 17, 1957, to May 6, 1958.

Lois E. Cooper, 90, of Lucas, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Hospice House of Reno County in Hutchinson.

She was born on November 20, 1933, in rural Osborne County, Kansas, the daughter of Ray and Mildred (Smith) Robinson. She grew up on the family farm north of Lucas and graduated from Lucas High School in the Class of 1951 and attended one year of college at Ft. Hays State University.

Therean L. Towns, of Palco, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Redbud Village in Plainville.

He was born August 24, 1936, in Palco to Russell and Edna (Thyfault) Towns. Therean grew up in Palco, and after graduating from Palco High School, he attended Kansas State University, earning a B.S. in Animal Science in 1957. He later received his Master’s in Education from Fort Hays University.

Lawrence Gene “Larry” Desbien, 69, of Damar, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays.

He was born February 13, 1955, to Phillip E. and Verna O. (Simoneau) Desbien in Hays. He grew up with his six siblings in and around the Damar area. He attended grade school in Damar and graduated from Palco High School in 1973.

Evelyn Irene Kee, 96, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas.

She was born on May 13, 1927, in Pasadena, California, the daughter of Melvin and Berniece (Manley) Griffin. She was very young when the family moved to Natoma, Kansas, and she graduated from Natoma High School in the Class of 1944. She was united in marriage to Raymond P. Luhman. He passed away in March of 1950. To this marriage, one son, Ray Luhman, was born.

Shirlee Hazen Muir, Stockton, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Via Christi Senior Home in Hays, at the age of 89.

Shirlee was born to Duane and Fauna (Harwood) Hazen on January 7, 1935, on a farm south of Stockton. In 1938-39, they moved to a farm northwest of Stockton, where Shirlee spent her childhood. She attended High Hill School for 1st – 4th grades, then Mt. Nebo through 8th grade. She graduated from Stockton High School in 1953.

Ada Mae Bruna, of Plainville, passed away on April 14, 2024, at the Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton, at the age of 91.

She was born on April 17, 1932, in Phillips County, Kansas to Floyd Melborn and Ruth Norma (Rosenberg) Christoffersen.

She married Kenneth L. Bruna on August 17, 1951, and they had two sons, Mike and Pat.

Doris Marie Larsen, 83, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at Eldon Nursing and Rehab in Eldon, Missouri.

She was born April 20, 1940, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of the late Harry and Laura (Gager) Larsen.  

Doris enjoyed crafts, crocheting, quilting, gardening, fishing, being outdoors, and her cat, Frosty.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Joseph Buyak.

Christopher Keith Hrabe

Christopher Keith Hrabe, 65, Salina, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at KU Medical Center.

He was born November 14, 1958, in Ellis County to Dorothy Ann (Thyfault) and Doyal Keith Hrabe.

He married Jeannie (Keiter) on November 26, 1983, in Hartington, Nebraska. Andrew Christopher joined the family on June 23, 1990.

Chris grew up in Stockton. He graduated in 1976 from Stockton High School. He got an associate degree at KTI (Kansas Technical Institute). He returned home to work at The Home Shop with Uncle Don and Aunt Janie.
