This 1967 photograph is the first scene of the Christmas Story, which was a project of the Stockton Chamber of Commerce. The scene was 24 feet long and 12 feet high with the figures of the Holy Family separate and set in front of the background depicting the interior of the stable. The scene was designed and constructed by Milt Boethin, Rev. Jim Williams and Sterling Bagby. Andy Andreson was the painter. It set just south of the old Log Hotel and spotlights were set up so the scene could be viewed after dark.
