Stockton music students attend MCEL Music Festival
Cheyene Carlson receives I Rating for her clarinet solo
The Mid-Continent Elementary League Music Festival took place at Norton on Wednesday, February 26th. Several Stockton music students took solos to the event. The choir received a II Rating for their performance selections: “Homeward Bound” arranged by Jay Althouse and “Lean On Me (We Shall Overcome)” arranged by Mark Hayes.
The seventh-grade girls ensemble and the eighth grade girls ensemble both received II Ratings.
Vocal solo ratings are as follows: Cheyene Carlson, Katy Post, Brin Muir, Lillie Ferguson and Ashlyn Wallace all received I-Ratings for their solos; Jadyn Palmer, Rivver Long and Kourtney Bigge all received a II+ Rating for their solos; and Noah Griffin received a II Rating for his solo.
The band performed the songs “March For A Celebration” and “Simple Gifts” arranged by Andrew Balent. They received a III Rating. The Clarinet Trio consisting of Jalia Creighton, Cheyene Carlson and MacKenzie Kester received a II Rating for their performance.
Instrumental solos ratings were as follows: Cheyene Carlson received a I Rating for her clarinet solo; Jalia Creighton received a II+ Rating for her clarinet solo; Ryleigh Gardner received a II rating for her trumpet solo; Ava Dix received a II-Rating for her saxophone solo; Lillie Ferguson received a III Rating for her saxophone solo; Boyde Stitehm received a III+ Rating for her trumpet solo; and Kourtney Bigge received a III+ Rating for her flute solo.
