Body

Join Oklahoma and Missouri Small Ruminant Specialists, Dr. Hart and Dr. Salinas-Gonsalez, to learn strategies for integrated pest management of parasites in small ruminants (sheep and goats), with an option to receive FAMACHA© certification.

Internal parasite management is one of the biggest challenges that small ruminant producers encounter. Integrated pest management (IPM) gives producers the tools to more effectively manage internal parasites in their herds.

Topics covered during the workshop will include: body condition scoring, FAMACHA©, economic/strategic planning and parasite prevention.

The workshop will be held November 3, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Phillips County Fairgrounds in Phillipsburg. There is a $25 registration fee to attend the workshop with an optional FAMACHA© certification fee of $15. A meal will be provided.

For more information or to register for the workshop, please contact K-State Research and Extension Phillips-Rooks District Agriculture Agent, Rachael Brooke, at 785425-6851 or rbrooke@ksu. edu (See display ad elsewhere in this issue of the Sentinel.)
