SHS Junior High Choir & Band do well at PTL Music Contest

Kerr & Shamburg receive I Rating

The Stockton Junior High vocal and band students attended the PTL Music Contest at Pike Valley on Wednesday, April 24th. They were dressed for success, and this showed in their ratings. Receiving a I Rating were vocal duet Teagann Shamburg and Aidyen Kerr (Homeward Bound arr. Jay Althouse). Receiving II Ratings for their vocal duets or solos were Meredith Gasper and Lyric Snyder (To the Sky arr. Carl Strommen); Kaley Jones (She's Like the Swallow arr. Carl Strommen); Adrienne McCoy and Faith Armstrong (Amazing Grace arr. Jay Althouse); and Kourtnie Bird and Lyllyn McNulty (Shenan- thouse). The Choir (Flying Free by Don Besig & Bonse Aba arr. Victor C. Johnson) also received a II Rating.

The seventh-grade Girls Ensemble comprised of Brooklyn Couse, Lyllyn McNulty, Adrienne McCoy, Kinley Kester, Blayke Stithem, Kaylee Jackson, Jade Jackson, Faith Armstrong, and McKenna Horn received a II Rating as well (The Dream Keeper text by Langston Hughes and music by Rollo Dilworth).

The sixth- through eighth-grade band brought home a II Rating to round out the day.

The Stockton music teachers are Megan Riener (vocal) and Laura Jameson (band).
