HARPER COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 160 in Harper County.
LANSING, Kansas—Lansing Correctional Facility (LCF) Minimum-custody resident Bradley G. Verstraete has been apprehended.
Verstraete was taken into custody Monday morning, April 8, 2024, by officials from the Lansing Police Department. He was arrested on the Kansas Department of Corrections escape warrant without incident.
Verstraete had been placed on escape status after he walked away from the minimum-security unit at LCF on April 7, 2024.
No other details are being released as the investigation is ongoing.
Christopher Keith Hrabe, 65, Salina, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at KU Medical Center.
He was born November 14, 1958, in Ellis County to Dorothy Ann (Thyfault) and Doyal Keith Hrabe.
He married Jeannie (Keiter) on November 26, 1983, in Hartington, Nebraska. Andrew Christopher joined the family on June 23, 1990.
Chris grew up in Stockton. He graduated in 1976 from Stockton High School. He got an associate degree at KTI (Kansas Technical Institute). He returned home to work at The Home Shop with Uncle Don and Aunt Janie.
