Eunice A. Dinkel, 84, Garden City, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

She was born on April 18, 1939, in Graham County, Kansas, the daughter of George & Anna Mae (Eichman) Martell. She married Melvin J. Dinkel at St. Peter on June 3, 1961. He died on August 10, 2020.

Eunice attended school in Damar and Palco and graduated from Palco High School. Before her marriage, she worked at a doctor's office in Hill City. She and her husband moved to Garden City from Goodland in 1979. She worked for Garden City Co-op for 25 years, retiring as the Office Manager.

She was a member of St Dominic Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering with RSVP, answering the phone at the Finney County Senior Center, and visiting the casino. She also enjoyed her family gatherings.

She is survived by her five children, Daryl and Marty Dinkel, John Dinkel, and Brian and Shiela Dinkel, all of Garden City; Tim and Latisha Dinkel of Montgomery, Texas, and Ann and Luther Britton of Jackson, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Mark Dinkel, two brothers, Charles Martell and Kendall Martell, and sister Mary Eileen Klaus.

A Rosary will be at 9:30 am Friday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, both at St Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City with Rev Tim Hickey as Celebrant. The Mass will be livestreamed on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from noon to 8:00 pm Thursday with family present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home.
