The final installment of the action-packed movie franchise “Fast and Furious” will be in theatres this weekend. And I for one can’t wait to see it! I have been a loyal fan since the first movie drove into theatres in 2001 with “The Fast and the Furious.” Why, you might ask? Because of one actor—Paul Walker (Loved him in “Varsity Blues”). But what got me hooked on the movies was the end scene when his character Brian O’Conner and Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto flew their cars across those railroad tracks.

That set me up for the next movie, “2 Fast 2 Furious” in 2003, which almost lost me as a fan, but it still kept me interested enough to want to see the third installment, “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” which came out in 2006. This movie has Lucas Black as the star, who I loved watching in the TV series “NCIS: New Orleans.” This one you need to watch it as it has scenes in it that are pertinent in the later movies.

“Fast & Furious” came out in 2009 with Brian O’Conner teaming up with Dominic Toretto to bring down a heroin importer. Still not one of my favorites in the series but, you gotta love Paul Walker, and by now I really like Vin Diesel’s character.

Next, it is “Fast Five” in 2011 and the street racers plan a massive heist that is pretty awesome!

“Fast & Furious 6” in 2013, was another in the series that was just okay for me, but I am now invested in the series and want to see what happens to some of the characters.

“Furious 7” came out in 2015, and enter actor Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw!! I am beyond hooked! Plus, the ending pays tribute to Paul Walker who died during the making of the film.

Now my favorite movie in the series (to date since I will hold my final call until after I see “Fast X”) by far is “The Fate of the Furious” which came out in 2017. You’ve got the main family of characters along with Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, and Scott Eastwood.

F9: The Fast Saga” was in 2021. Not a fan of John Cena, who plays Dominic’s estranged brother, but I saw it since I am no quitter.

Now it is “Fast X,” the end of an era of fast cars and family. I am sure there will be another tribute to Paul Walker, who was a part of these actors who truly became a family on and off screen.

This just in!!! There has been an announcement of a Fast 11 and 12!! Stay tuned!
