ENTERTAINMENT was at its best when Leta Bouchey, Betty Smith and Myrna Kincaid entertained the audiences during the Stockton United Fund Telethon with humorous commercials throughout the years. This picture is from 1997 when the trio did advertisements for Waller Motor Company, Shorty’s Service, the Stockton Sentinel and Webster’s Food Pride during the annual October event. Lucia Hamilton wrote the commercials for the ladies.

THE 1997 SHS HOMECOMING ROYALTY CANDIDATES were (from left): Seph Bellerive, Misty Bice, Josh Perez, Laura Gasper, Joey Casad, Sarah Moll, Chris Look and Shelly Lewis. Seniors Misty Bice and Seph Bellerive were crowned queen and king that year.

Taking down Dino the dinosaur left a sadness in many people. He was a welcomed sight as you entered Stockton from the west.

THOUGH THE PLANTS were shorter than the year before, the heads were heavier with seed in this sunflower field Rick Waters had produced northwest of Stockton near the Bedker Ranch in 1997..

THIS YESTERYEAR PHOTO was taken nearly 100 years ago in front of Seven Falls in Colorado. Pictured are from left are: A.R. (Chub), Irma (Reed) Baxter, Victor (Reed) Baxter, Calvin (Ed), Clarence F. (Bud) and Fern Nettie (Gartrell) Baxter. Though the pose was not intentional, Lorrie (Bobbitt) Baxter and Garry Baxter, in 2019, had a picture taken in the exact same place as their ancestors.

CELEBRATING THE SAD OCCASION OF JANESE TOWNLEY’S 50TH BIRTHDAY IN 1997 were her fellow employees at the Stockton National Bank. JUNIA HALE and her son, Roger Hale, were pictured alongside the exhibit cabinet in the Wine Department at the 1997 Rooks County Free Fair that had been purchased with funds from the Willard Hale Memorial.
