Stockton’s Pumpkin Patch was held this past weekend (October 1st and 2nd) and can only be described as a “smashing success!”

Stockton Chamber Director Ravin States Leake, the volunteers and students worked tirelessly to set up the fall affair with the weather cooperating, maybe just a little too much with the temperature, but nonethe- less dished up a beautiful, sunny weekend for the event.

The Hobart FCE announced the winners of their Pumpkin Baking Contest, which was held on Saturday. Reesa Brown placed first with her pumpkin dessert, Kari Becker placed second with pumpkin muffins, and Wilma Turnbull placed third with pumpkin crescent sweet rolls.

Addie Becker was the winner in the youth category with her pumpkin cookies.

The first ever Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest was held on Sunday with plenty of people cheering on the contestants.

The top three fastest pumpkin pie eaters were Jazariah Rush with a time of 3:09 minutes, Anabell Reilley with a time of 3:32 minutes and Jayce Monasmith with a time of 4:01 minutes.

Also, giving it their all, or eating it all, in the contest were contestants Kevin States, Ian Snyder and Ragen Struckhoff.

Colton Williams Lawn and Junk Removal sponsored the event.

On Sunday, the Hobart FCE judged the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. There were fourteen entries showing the vivid imaginations and creativity of those that entered the contest.

First place in the youth divisions were Way Jay’s Donuts in first place and Jessa Swaney’s unicorn coming in second. In the “Other” youth category, Raylyn Swaney placed first with her mummy and Jack Morgan came in second with his nuts and bolts monster. In the adult category, Donna Swaney came in first with her spa lady complete with sponge rollers. Magnus States placed first in the carved division with his skeleton in jail.

The adult winners won Chamber Checks with the youth winners receiving J-Mart gift cards.

It was a fun-filled day for everyone who attended.
