After dismissing a superstitious tale Allison tells about the house, Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches who used to live in the house. Now, with the help of a magical cat, the kids must steal the witches’ book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal. County to distribute SPARK funds

The Rooks County Commissioners, along with health nurse Lori Eichman, emergency management director Butch Post and treasurer Kim Northup, held a conference call with Witt O’Brien dealing with the SPARK funds. The County will pay out the distributions to each department or entity with each group to send in a monthly reconciliation of the COVID funds they used within that time period. These records will then be reviewed and recorded by Witt O’Brien before they are submitted to the state.

Linda Melton made a trip to rural Riley to visit her sister, Norma Sharp. They spent the afternoon decorating her farmstead with milo, corn, cattails, grasses, and pumpkins that Linda purchased at a Beloit pumpkin patch. For Norma’s October birthday, Linda gave her an old garden gate. Norma always wants to repay so she sent Linda home with Victoria magazines and jars of homemade salsa, bread and butter pickles and pickled beets. What a busy time of year with combines, grain trucks, tractors with drills running all along the way.

The New Pour-In-Place Surfacing

THE NEW POUR-IN-PLACE SURFACING under the Stockton City Park’s playground equipment was laid on Thursday, September 24th by a subcontractor of Sterling West of Nebraska. This project was made possible through the fundraising of the Stockton PRIDE organization, a KDHE Tire Waste Grant and local donations, as well as through donations from the Olive Reed Schafer Fund and the William H. Andreason Fund. It is through the efforts of all combined that this project is now a reality. The new surfacing will now be enjoyed for years to come by the children as well as the adults of the community.
