The Stockton Fire Department was paged early this evening, at about 6:40.

Plainville Fire Department requests a brush truck for an alfalfa field on fire at 20 & Z Road, approximately 2.25 miles east and two miles south of Plainville.

Former city manager of Stockton retired Friday, March 31

After serving for a total of 43 years as a city manager in the state of Kansas, Richard Nienstedt retired last Friday, March 31st. Nienstedt was city manager in Stockton from March 1983 to December 1989. For the past 16 years, he and his wife, Rita, have called Ottawa home. “Stockton and Ottawa are two of our very favorite places,” said Nienstedt.
