Bright, bouncy, beautiful and somewhat sudden, Triton Michael Davis was the first baby born at Rooks County Health Center (RCH) in 2020! The proud parents are Shyanne Meyer and Trey Davis from Alton. This adorable little boy entered the world at RCH on January 8 at 8:15 p.m. weighing 8 lbs. 13 oz. Dr. Jenny Maciaszek was the attending physician.

Shyanne and Trey had originally planned on having their baby at Hays, but Triton was apparently in a bit of a hurry to see the world. As the couple were driving from Alton to Hays it became apparent that stopping at RCH was necessary.

The Rooks County Health Center Auxiliary once again sponsored the annual New Year’s Baby Shower and presented the family with a gift basket containing baby wipes, diapers, toys and clothes, lotions, blankets and handmade crocheted cap and quilt.

When asked to describe the experience, Shyanne’s immediate response was that it was superlative, saying, “The nurses and Dr. Jenny were amazing even without knowing us and the very personal care was great. I would definitely recommend Rooks County Health Center for any moms to have their babies at.”

Trey admitted to some nervousness during the delivery but offered that Dr. Maciaszek told him afterwards that he had done a great job and was one of the better new fathers she had encountered by helping Shyanne stay calm.

Congratulations to Shyanne, Trey and Triton!

The family appreciates the kindness and generosity of the Rooks County Health Center Auxiliary for the shower gifts.
