Laura King is working on her international mission trip dream

Laura King, a 2020 Stockton High School graduate, said, “My parents always told me that I can do anything I want as long as I put my mind to it!” And that is exactly what she is doing—chasing her big dreams as a junior at the Manhattan Christian College in Intercultural Studies.

This summer, King has the opportunity to serve on an international mission team to join other students and professors from MCC to travel to Barcelona, Spain. They are partnering and serving with the International Church of Barcelona (ICB) to work within the church and community to aid those suffering from homelessness and trafficking. While King is there, she can also complete her Intercultural Studies Practicum, a hands-on experience needed for her degree.

King will pursue nursing after she finishes her MCC degree with her dream to combine the two potential degrees to do medical missions. She states, “This is a huge opportunity for me considering I would love to find my future career serving internationally, and so being given the opportunity to serve on my first international trip with people I know provides a great learning experience.”

King is now in the process of raising the $5,700.00 needed for the trip. The funds will cover her flight, housing, insurance, food ministry expenses, and a stipend for general living costs. The ten-week mission starts at the end of May and continues through July.

At this time, King is asking for support from her community through prayer or financial support. “First and foremost, I would love it if you would partner with me by praying for Spain, ICB, my team, and me as I prepare for the summer. God is already doing something special in Barcelona, and I pray that He continues to do his Mighty works in these areas so people will come to know Him deeply. Prayer is a huge thing!”
