Barbara (Taylor) Mullen, affectionately known as Barb, age 73, of Dodge City, Kansas, passed away on January 6, 2024, after a brief illness.

She was born on June 6, 1950, to Charles and Edna Lee (Reed) Taylor in Hays, Kansas. After graduating from Woodston Rural High School in 1968, she went on to study at Ft Hays Kansas State College and received a degree in education. After teaching positions in New Mexico, she returned to Ft. Hays Ks State College to pursue a Masters in Speech at Fort Hays. Upon receiving her Masters in Speech Pathology, she accepted a speech clinician position in the Dodge City School District. She retired from the Dodge City School District USD 443 in 2016 and was a Speech Pathologist at the Hospital until her retirement in 2022.

She married John Mullen on July 31, 2009. Barb and John made their home in Dodge City.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A Taylor and Edna Lee (Reed) Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, brothers John Taylor (Kathie) Hays, Paul Taylor, Hays, Tracy Lee Taylor, Oklahoma City, Okla., a sister, Bertha Taylor, Shawnee Mission, and many nieces and nephews.

Barb attended Faith Bible Fellowship Church and was an enthusiastic member of the bible study group. She loved gathering for lunches with the Wednesday Luncheon Group.

For many years, she was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed providing piano accompaniment for performances at Boot Hill.  

Barb enjoyed life, family members, and many friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others.

There will be a small family memorial service in Stockton at a later date. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
