Danny Dwight Lamb, 68, of Plainville, passed away on March 16, 2024, at Redbud Village Nursing Home in Plainville.

He was born on March 27, 1955, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Elwin "Pete" Dwight and Bessie (Nowak) Lamb.

Danny proudly served his country in the armed services before embarking on a varied career path. He was a skilled welder and small business owner. His endeavors included buying and selling personal items on eBay, owning an auction house, managing hotels, and operating a food truck. He did all of these things alongside his beloved partner of over 40 years, Kayleen Haselhorst, who passed away in November 2023.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Danny was passionate about several hobbies. He was a drummer in his youth and is remembered for singing songs that reminded people of Elvis Presley. His fondest memories were those he spent as a race car driver. Even when faced with dementia, his eyes would sparkle when people talked about racing. Additionally, Danny enjoyed attending auctions, gambling at local casinos, and fishing at the local lake with Kayleen. They were inseparable until the end.

He is survived by his children, Jason Lamb (Elizabeth) and Danielle Lamb-Hunt of Wichita; grandchildren Mariah Lamb, Cameron, and Max Hunt, all of Wichita; stepdaughter Wendy Porembski of Overland Park, Kansas; step-grandchildren Carly Benjamin of Kansas City, Missouri, and Lauren Garner (Jack) of WaKeeney; brother Rick Lamb (Susan) of Hoisington; sister-in-law Faye Lamb of Great Bend; and Kayleens family, who loved and adored Danny.

In the end, Kayleen's niece Kim, her husband Matt Sutter, and their son Trenton provided Danny with his daily needs and support. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Bessie Lamb; brothers Gerald (Jerry) and LeRoy (Roy); and sisters Sandra Hoffman (Steve) Miller, Glennis (Sam) McNett, and Nancy Lamb.

A celebration of Danny's life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel, 2509 Vine Hays, Kansas 67601.
