* To my great-nephew, Noah, born on February 29th, 2012, with a birthday so awesome the world can only handle it once every four years!

* People born on February 29th are called “Leapers or “Leaplings.”

* Let this year leap in your heart and give you one more day to live and enjoy life with your loved ones.

* There is a one in 1,461 chance of being born on a Leap Day.

* You know that extra day you’ve been wishing for? Well, it’s here!

* Let this be the day you LEAP into the life you’re meant to give…get ready to fly!

* Today only comes every four years, so make it special. * A Leap Year means 24 hours more to make the year memorable. So make every second count!

* Happy Leap Day! A day where “This time last year,” and “This time next year” does not apply.

* When invitations or posters for a Leap Year Party are planned, this old law will be handy. It was enacted in Scotland in 1288, in France a few years later, and in Italy in the fifteenth century. “It is stated and ordained that during the reign of her most blessed Majesty, for every year known as Leap Year, every maiden lady of both high and low estate shall have liberty to bespeak the man she likes. But if he refuses to take her to be his lawful wife, he shall be fined in the sum of one pound or less, as his estate may be, except and always, if he can make it appear that he is betrothed to another, then he shall be free.”

* Take that “Leap of Faith,” and the net will appear. * I asked my girl out on February 29th, so I only have to celebrate our anniversary every four years.

* A Leap Year means you have another day to cherish your blessings.

* Remember when we would have Sadie Hawkins dances in high school? They should bring those back! Girls ask the guys, and everyone dresses up as Lil Abner and Daisy Mae! (If you don’t know who those characters are, look them up!)

* Every Leap Year, I remember one of my teenage heartthrobs, Davy Jones of The Monkees, who passed away on February 29th, 2012. “Look Out, Here Comes Tomorrow!”
