* Here’s an idea…This Christmas purchase some of your gifts from your hometown and home-based stores, and your turkey or ham from the local grocery store. During this crazy year, we need to come together and support each other, and what better time than at Christmas?
* As a grownup I’ve learned that all the “Christmas magic” I felt as a kid was really from my mom and dad who loved me so much.
* When I went to high school, we didn’t have smart/cell phones, iPads, Google, texting, email, Facebook, You Tube, GPS, Kindles, XBOX or Wii. We had to run to the phone in the other room before it stopped ringing or have the right change to use the pay phone, record music off of the radio onto a cassette tape player, had to look up information from an encyclopedia, wrote letters to send in the mail, if we had to say something to someone we did it face to face, watched TV music specials or “This Old House,” had to know how to read a map to find out how to get somewhere, checked out library books, or played Pong or Space Invaders!

And with that said, I just want to say I feel sorry for the kids today who will never experience shopping for music in a cool music store looking through the albums in alphabetical order of the bands’ names in the rock, classic or heavy metal sections with the neatest posters scattered all over the walls and your favorite song blaring through the speakers hanging in each corner of the store!
