Just a reminder that the last day to register to vote for the General Election is Tuesday, October 13th. Also, if you wish to receive an Advance Ballot through the mail instead of going to the poles, cut out and complete the application for Advance Ballot by Mail, which can be found on page 7 in this week’s issue.

The Rooks County Commissioners recently made the decision to cut back the employee hours to 36 instead of the traditional 40 hours for the remainder of this year and the 2021 year. With this decision, the County will keep the mill levy approximately the same as last year, and in doing so, they do not have to raise taxes during this hard hit economic time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Stockton PRIDE committee meeting was held on Tuesday, September 15th at the Stockton City Office. President Amber Muir called the meeting to order and Kayla Hilbrink gave the Treasurer’s Report. The balance for the organization is $1,108.61 with all bills paid to date.

Mark your calendars for the Stockton PRIDE committee monthly meeting days! They will now be held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Stockton City Hall during the noon hour. The meetings for the remainder of the year are: September 15th, October 20th, November 17th, and December 15th. Hope to see you there!
