Additions to the February school calendar events

There are a few additions to the school calendar which was printed in the January 28 edition of the Stockton Sentinel. On Thursday, February 11, MCL Scholars Bowl will be held in Russell beginning at 4:00 p.m.; Monday, February 15 the Tiger basketball teams will travel to Smith Center for a make-up game with the Redmen beginning at 6:00 p.m., and there will be an early, 2:15 dismissal for the students on Wednesday, February 17..

Mr. K’s Foodtown in Plainville is offering curbside delivery for your grocery shopping convenience. If you would like to take advantage of the service, which is available Monday through Friday until 6:00 p.m., you need to send your list by email only to mrkscurbside@gmail.com. Be sure to include your name and phone number so you can be notified when your order is ready. Once you arrive at Mr. K’s to pick up your items, call 785-434- 4534 so your groceries can be delivered to you.

St. Thomas “Treat Your Sweetheart to Dinner” set for Sunday, February 14th

This year, the St. Thomas Parish in Stockton will be offering a “Treat Your Sweetheart to Dinner” on Sunday, February 14th. This delicious event is a free will offering and will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You can pick up your meal at the St. Thomas Parish Center or make arrangements to have it delivered to your home. The meal includes roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade noodles, green beans, cole slaw, rolls and a slice of pie or cake.

Governor Laura Kelly directs flags be flown at half-staff to honor 3,027 Kansans who lost their lives to COVID-19

Kansas surpassed 3,000 Kansas deaths due to COVID-19. In honor of the lives lost and the families they left behind, Governor Laura Kelly has directed that flags be lowered to half-staff throughout the state Thursday, January 7, 2021, from sunup to sundown.
