The FUSION Christian Youth Association was gifted a building for creating a youth center by the employees and directors of the Stockton National Bank to provide a fun, safe Christian environment for the junior high and senior high youth of Rooks County.

What Stocktonites Were Doing 98 Years Ago in 1911—J. F. Dunn will sell his entire stock of clothing and gents furnishing goods at actual manufacturers’ prices. This is a chance that you can’t afford to miss. Twenty acres of land in the north part of Graham County is being dynamited this week to break up the subsoil as an experiment to ascertain the value of subsoiling for this part of the country. A surprise party was tendered to Miss Bertha Lowe at her home for her twelfth birthday. Nineteen little girls helped her celebrate.

56 Years Ago, Spotlighting The Year 1953— The Board of Directors of the Community Health Center announced that November 16th would mark the beginning of the final campaign to complete the Health Center fund. Eckart Supply’s Toyland was open with doll strollers for $3.98, riding fire trucks for $7.95, and toy planes with spinning propellers for $1.59. Miss LaDonna Ives was the honored guest at the home of Mrs. Vernon Sammons for a very clever bridal shower.

Looking Backward Fourteen Years Ago (1995)— The Stockton Tigers had won the sub-state crown for the fourth consecutive year with their 22-14 win over the Dighton Hornets. The win advanced the Tigers to the 1995 State Football Championship game against the Frankfort Wildcats at Lewis Field in Hays. The Stockton Junior High Tigers football team included Wes Higdon, Liam Pasilas, Aaron Hahn, A. J. Rothenberger, Garrett Handley, Trey Kuhlmann, Brayden Winters, Tristan Williams, Kyle Hull, Riley Nyp, Joel Green, Kian Coffey, Dillon Krier, D. J. Wise, Kieran Graf, Branson Gosselin, Evan Ruiz, Braden Higdon, Gannon Spiess, Tyler Morris. Ethan Hamel, Shea Ward, Nolan Lowry, Landon Becker, Daylan Carlson, and coaches Kirk Green, Mark Lowry, Downer Hull, and Hubie Karlin.

Obituaries were published for Andrew J. Gallardo. Sr. (1941) and Alan R. Stewart (1952).

Baileigh Balthazor announced the birth of her baby brother, Zeke Jerome, born on September 24th, to Adam and Jamie Balthazor.

Mr. and Mrs. Tim Berland had announced the engagement of their daughter, Danielle Nicole, to Bryant Thomas Muir, son of Verl and Ruthmary Muir of Stockton.
