* Ed Lana, a farmer living ten miles northwest of Woodston, reported the birth of Siamese twin heifer calves at his farm. One calf was born dead, but the other seemed alive until just before delivery. The calves were average size and were joined at the chest cavity up to their necks but had separate lungs and hearts. Marshall Dibble acted as the obstetrician.

* The LaCrosse Women’s Invitational Bowling Tournament ended with several Stockton winners on the board. The Stockton Lanes team placed fourth out of 23 teams entered. Members were Opal Bonneau, Iva Lee McMillen, Evelyn Eckman, Virginia Saunders, and Lou Slansky. Myrna Kincaid and Ileta Baxter placed third in doubles with Lucille Laska and Virginia Saunders taking tenth in doubles. Lucille Laska held second place in singles. A total of forty-eight teams entered the tournament, and 96 singles entries. Opal Bonneau placed seventh in all events.

* C. F. Rupp was to serve as the chairman of the 1967 Heart Fund Campaign in Rooks County. Lt. governor John Crutcher had announced the appointment.

* From the Feminine Slant By The Office Cat: They tell us there is a reason for everything, but surely not for most government agencies.

* Looking Backward Fourteen Years Ago: The fine new brick apartment building belonging to Barbara Ochampaugh was completed. The junior play, “Perhaps Toby Helps Out,” had pleased a large audience. The cast members were Robert McMichael, Carolyn Young, Mary Ellen Brown, Kenneth Simpson, Gerald Wyant, Bruce Smith, Bonnie Baxter, Carol Huss, and Gary Ernest.

* Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ruhnke of Troy had announced their daughter Bonnie's engagement to Jerry Cordill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cordill of Woodston.

* Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gager had celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary. Their daughter, Aleene Watson, and daughter-in-law Estel Gager, had baked their cake. Several relatives and friends made the day special for the couple. Ustel Hutton took pictures, and the couple received many lovely gifts, flowers, cards, and letters.

* On sale at Glenn’s Mr. A G Store were a pound of bananas for 11¢, a fivepound bag of Shurfine flour for 39¢, three dozen large eggs for $1.00, a quart jar of Shurfine salad dressing for 39¢, and 20 Texas grapefruit for $1.00.

* Brad Waller was the guest of honor at a dinner in his parent's home to celebrate his seventh birth anniversary.

* Miss Brenda Jo Hunter entertained four friends at a pizza party at the Midway Café Party Room to celebrate her 13th birthday. Guests were Pam Miller, Renee Westhusin, Marilyn Pomroy, and Jeannie Jacobs.

* Showing at the Nova Theatre was the movie, “Stagecoach” starring Ann Margaret, Red Buttons, Michael Connors, Bing Crosby, Slim Pickens, Stephanie Powers, and Keenan Wynn.
