* Fifteen-year-old Mike Muir was injured in an accident with his Honda and the 1967 Ford Fairlane Hardtop owned and driven by Dr. William Votapka. Both vehicles were traveling north on the old highway at the north edge of town when Mike was waving with his right hand to someone in a field adjoining the road, and he did not see the Ford in front of him. When he struck the rear of the car, he was thrown from the cycle to the top of the vehicle and bounced down on the hood. His most severe injury was a deep gash above one knee, which required repair work. He also received numerous bruises and abrasions, but no broken bones. The Votapka car was slightly damaged, and the motorcycle was practically demolished.

* The Mid-Continent League Champion Stockton Tigers were to open the 1967 football season against the Red Devils of Oberlin. Returning lettermen for the season were Brad Bates, Leslie Conn, James Berkley, David Couch, Brent Casad, Ed Hageman, Lawrence Look, Randy Towns, James Walker, Roger Winters, and Quinton Van Eaton, * The Dove building at the corner of Walnut and Main received a new look with a fresh coat of white paint. The lower floor housed the Water Resources Offices, and the upper floor had apartments. The smaller building to the south is where the Marshall Liquor Store was located. Duane Maddy did the painting.

* From The Feminine Slant By The Office Cat: What would happen if someone would like Brand X the best?
