Ken Bates of Bates of Stockton presented a t-shirt to Laurence Hull of Woodston, president of Thomas Barn, Inc. A donation from the sale of each shirt went to refurbishing the Thomas Big Barn which was located northwest of Woodston. (The William Thomas Barn was 100 feet long, 64 feet wide and 64 feet tall. It could stable 54 horses and 50 head of cattle. It won the 1908 State Board of Agriculture photography contest for 'Best Barn' in Kansas. Reverend Richard Taylor had formed a not-for-profit corporation for restoring the barn and when nearly complete in 1995, it was destroyed by fire, after it was struck by lightning.)
