THE STOCKTON GRADE SCHOOL had won first prize at the first ever Rooks County School Day, which had been held on April 8th, 1922. Quite a few of the county schools were represented in the parade by way of floats, gaily decorated autos and wagons. The parade had been held in the morning with several school exhibits displayed in the Floral Hall for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. Races were held in the afternoon at the track with a music contest capping off the evening in the Methodist Church. LOREN GOODHEART (standing) had moderated a Candidates Public Forum in March of 1994. Running for the upcoming vacancy on the Stockton City Commission were (seated left to right): Charles “Chuck” Williams, DeVane Cunningham and Kim Thomas.

WHILE GOING THROUGH priceless old “Dunning family” photos, Lila Dunning found this jewel. Ray Dunning, Alan’s Dad, wrote on the back: “I worked on building this school house, all the way, from start to finish. I laid the cornerstone and front stones. Many years later, I served as custodian for two years, 1969-1971. I retired at the age of 70.”

THE STOCKTON JUNIOR HIGH WRESTLING TEAM finished their 1994 season by placing fourth in the MCEL Tournament in WaKeeney. RECOGNIZED for her 30 years of being associated with the Plainville Rural Hospital in February of 1994 was employee Valeria Thomas. Valeria started working at the clinic with Dr. A. M. Pederson and Dr. Vale Page in 1964.

RECEIVING HIS TEN-YEAR AWARD for his service at the Kansas Department of Corrections in February 1994 was Mark Jarvis. Pictured with Mark (center) were Jay Shelton (left) and Duane Muckenthaler (right).

HEADED TO THE STATE WRESTLING TOURNAMENT, held in Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays in February of 1994 were Stockton High School wrestlers Thane Van Eaton, Josh Price and Rich Bouchey..
