Estimated tax notice information

Body
In March 2021, the Kansas Legislature passed K.S.A. 79-2988, which requires Kansas County Clerks to send taxpayers notification of the revenue neutral rate (RNR) compared to the proposed rate for each taxing subdivisions. Taxing subdivisions are prohibited from levying an ad valorem property tax that exceeds the RNR. The fair board has a verbal agreement with Pride of Texas Shows Carnival for rides, concessions and games to be on the fairgrounds from Wednesday through Saturday (August 9th through August 12th) with fair board president Dean Hrabe stating, “The contract is on its way.” The last carnival at the Rooks County Free Fair was in 2019 before the COVID Pandemic in 2020. Since that time, and because of the Pandemic, it has been very hard to procure a carnival since 60% of them were eliminated during that time.
