IMPOSSIBLE. King Edward II of England ruled from 1307-1327 and spent a good bit of his reign with various wars. However, if King Edward would have proclaimed, 'In the year 2022, in a country called America, a man named Cooper Kupp is going to score the winning touchdown in something called a Super Bowl,' most people back then would have asked, 'What are you talkingabout?'Andpeople in 2022 would respond by saying 'Impossible!' We all know King Edward could not have known events 700 years future. That's what makes Micah's prophecy so amazing. He lived about 700 years before Jesus. Yet he prophesied concerning the tiny town of Bethlehem, 'From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity' (Micah 5:2). Bethlehem would have barely been a blip on the radar. And Micah was a relatively insignificant prophet. Yet he proclaimed one of the most amazing prophecies. In fact, when the wise men followed God's star to Jerusalem, they went around asking, 'Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him' (Matt. 2:2). King Herod then asked the chief priests and scribes where the Messiah would be born. And they responded by quoting Micah's prophecy. Amazing! It was an amazing prophecy because of the length of time until it was fulfilled. It was also amazing because no one in their right mind would have said the Messiah would be born in such an insignificant town. However, it was also amazing because Joseph and Mary lived about 70 miles from Bethlehem. And it took God causing Caesar Augustus to order a census be taken that resulted in Joseph and Mary traveling to Bethlehem. God is the God of the impossible! Are you facing an 'impossible'? God doesn't always remove our 'impossibles' but He does give grace to know that with Him, all things are possible for His grace is Amazing!
