South overhead city traffic light takes a trip north

If you missed what happened last week at the Stockton fourway intersection in Stockton then we have a story and a couple of pictures just for you. On Wednesday, December 6th, at 1:45 p.m., a semi-truck from Alberta, Canada, passed through Stockton and tangled with the city’s south overhead stoplight at the Intersection of Highway 183 and Highway 24.

Three 4-Hers’ photos from our district selected for display at K-State

A total of twenty-four Kansas 4-H members, three of which are from the Phillips-Rooks District, have been chosen to have their award-winning photograph displayed on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan. Their photos were among the more than 2,000 4-H entries at the 2023 Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson.

Commissioners meet with attorney to discuss Redbud Village Resolution

At the Tuesday meeting on November 28th, the Rooks County Commissioners met with county attorney Danielle Muir to talk about the Resolution for the transfer of Redbud Village to Rooks County Senior Services, Inc. Commissioner Jake Prockish stated he would like to review the feasibility study for a new facility and other information since he wants to be upto- date on this subject as a new commissioner.

Governor pauses production of new Kansas license plate

You get to vote on new design As an update to a story in last week’s Sentinel concerning the state’s new license plate, Governor Laura Kelly announced Tuesday, November 28, that the Kansas Department of Revenue will pause production on the license plate design recently revealed and create a process to receive public input before selecting a final design, according to a media release from her office. After the announcement, Kansas State Representative Nick Hoheisel of Wichita heard from many of his constituents who wanted a different design.
