Nov. 2— Candidates running for the Stockton City Commission were Adam Bryant, Jesica Kerr, and Lorin Trowbridge. Running for the Stockton School Board #271 were Thelma Berland, Michael Carpenter, Jessica Maddy, and Ginger Riffel.

The Rooks County Conservation District will be holding its 76th annual meeting on Monday, January 29th at 6:30 p.m. at the Palco High School Gym in Palco.

Prairie Heritage Auction and Real Estate will host two Open Houses in Stockton this Sunday, January 21st, to showcase a commercial building at 107-109 South Foster from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the five-bedroom, two-bath house, used as a current Airbnb, at 103 North 4th Street from 1:10 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.

One person was injured in an accident just after 7:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, in Rooks County.

The 39th annual Parade of Christmas Trees at the Stockton Public Library has come to a close with many creative trees on display this year. A massive winter storm moved into western Kansas late Sunday evening and during the early morning hours with blizzard warnings and predictions of up to seven to fourteen inches of snowfall. In anticipation of the snowstorm, Stockton School District #271 called school off for Monday, January 8th, Sunday night. The District also canceled the monthly school board meeting for that evening and rescheduled it to a later date.
