Phillipsburg resident Eugene D. Ross passed away April 25, 2023, at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 79.
He was born Jan. 30, 1944, in Rooks County, the son of Dewey and Eula (Sammons) Ross.
Survivors include his son Mitch of Stockton; daughter Shannon Hahn of Overland Park; brother Everett of Arkansas City; a sister, Phyllis Breese of Smith Center; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
It is with very heavy hearts that we share the loss of Gene Leon Theleman. Our Lord called him home on April 21, 2023, doing what he loved.
Born to Fred and Leona Theleman of Natoma, on August 29, 1955, in Hays, Kansas, Gene remained a resident of Natoma throughout his life. He attended and graduated from Natoma High School in 1973. Gene met his wife Luanne in Hays, Kansas, and soon married in 1976. They were blessed with three boys in 1984, 1987, and 1989. Gene was a believer in Christ and joined the Catholic Church.
Barbara Ellen (Brown) West, 73, of Plainville, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on December 27, 1949, in Natoma, Kansas, to Kenneth and Viola (Baum) Brown. She graduated from Plainville High School in 1968. After graduation, Barb went to beauty school in Salina, Kansas, and this was also where she met the love of her life, Larry.
Earl Ray “Benny” Benedick, Plainville, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, at the age of 72.
He was born on July 21, 1950, to Earl P. and Emma I. (Hrabe) Benedick at the Harwood Home in Stockton. He married Janice K. Schmidt on March 14, 1970, in Plainville. They were blessed with four children: Phillip, Lori, Wayne, and Andrew.
Robert Milton “Bob” Foster, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away on April 16, 2023, at the Ascension Via Christi Village in Hays, Kansas, at 91.
He was born on August 19, 1931, the third oldest of 15 children to Clarence Alfred and Lea Elda (Allen) Foster in Hoxie, Kansas.
Janice Lucille (Kroeger) Hadley, age 83, of rural Ellis, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at Trego Lemke Memorial Long Term Care in WaKeeney, Kansas, where she had been a resident the past year.
She was born on August 20, 1939, to Henry and Agnes (Heroneme) Kroeger in Hays, Kansas. Janice graduated from Trego Community High School in 1957.
William Frederick Schick, age 67, Phillipsburg, passed away April 10, 2023, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays.
He was born August 10, 1955, at the Phillips County Hospital, on August 10, 1955.
He was baptized August 28, 1955, and confirmed May 17, 1970, in the Lutheran faith at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Stuttgart, where he currently was a member.
Gregory “Greg” Edward Mott, of Stockton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 10, 2023, at the age of 52 after a brief illness.
He was born on April 27, 1970, in Rockford, Ill., to Thomas and Judy (Olson) Mott.
