Do you believe that you have a part in the body of Christ? If you still need to, you should read 1 Corinthians 12:27-31. Verse 27 says that “each one of has a part in it,” speaking of the body of Christ. So, if we don’t feel like we are part of the body of Christ, we need to study and cultivate our interests (gifts).

THE SAME BOAT. It must have been a sight to behold. Nobody could do that! Yet there He was. Jesus was walking on the water. Beyond that, there goes Peter, and he's walking on the water. But my curiosity is, 'What about the others?' It appears all 12 disciples were in the same boat, but only Peter had the faith to walk on the water. Where was the faith of the others? We don't know.

This scorching heat wave is getting tiresome trying to keep plants and animals watered, and we have more days to come with some cooler temperatures on the weekend. Manhattan had a record high Saturday with 115 degrees. The fall crops and pastures need our prayers for rain.

A Rooks County man was injured in an accident just after 8 p.m. Monday, August 7, in Reno County.

Hannah Michael Berland of Damar is among the more than 6,600 graduates at the University of Kansas for summer and fall 2022 and spring 2023. Many graduates celebrated by participating in the KU Commencement, which took place May 14.
