The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) issued their latest public health advisory update due to blue-green algae last Friday morning, June 23.

Kansas Junior Angus members led 108 entries at the 2023 Kansas Junior Angus Association Preview Show, June 3-4 in Hutchinson. Austin Vieselmeyer, Amherst, Colo., evaluated six bred-and-owned bulls, 51 owned females, 13 bred-and-owned females, 17 registered Angus steers and 21 phenotype and genotype females before choosing winners.

A total of 1,620 students earned places on the Dean’s Honor Roll at Fort Hays State University for the spring 2023 semester. The Dean’s Honor Roll includes undergraduate students only.

The Stockton Fire Department was called out on Thursday, June 15th, at 6:12 p.m. for an insulator pole on fire due to a power shortage at 216 North Elm (Stockton Methodist Church). The volunteers had the fire out and under control in less than five minutes.

No doubt you are aware of the purpose of laws. If we didn’t have laws, what would keep anyone from doing anything and suffering no consequences? Likewise, in Christianity, there is a purpose in the law. If we didn’t have the law, then what is sin?
