39th annual Parade of Christmas Trees on display at the Stockton Public Library

It’s the 39th annual Parade of Christmas Trees at the Stockton Public Library! This year many of the decorations for the trees took their inspiration from Stockton’s Olde Tyme Christmas On Gingerbread Lane. Gingerbread men, women, houses and more adorn most of the twenty-five trees on display in the Carnegie Room of the Stockton Public Library this year.

Short but busy meeting for city commissioners

At the regular meeting of the Stockton City Commission on Tuesday, November 21st, the commissioners started the session by approving the Solomon Valley Manor hand checks to Parkway Construction. They also approved the Gift Fund Advisory Board’s recommendation to donate funds toward the school’s new popcorn machine, and Dollar General’s cereal malt beverage license for the coming year.

Jake Prockish to fulfill Rooks County Commissioner Kayla Hilbrink's unexpired term

Even though Governor Laura Kelly was to make the official appointment until later in the week, during the Rooks County Commission meeting on Tuesday, November 14th, commissioners Tim Berland and John Ruder were informed that the Republican Party had recommended Jake Prockish to fill the unexpired term of former commissioner Kayla Hilbrink.

Loren & Clarene Goodheart to be honored with a Reception this Saturday

Loren and Clarene Goodheart have called Stockton their home for over 50 years, but they are now looking toward their next adventure when they move to Wind Crest in Highlands Ranch, a suburb of Denver, within the next few months. But before they leave, the Stockton Methodist Church of Restoration is hosting a Reception in their honor this Saturday, December 2nd, for their dedication to the church and community.

Redbud Village discussed at county meeting

During the Rooks County Commission meeting on Tuesday, November 14th, Rooks County Attorney Danielle Muir, Don Hoffman with Redbud Village, and Plainville City Attorney Michael Baxter were present. Also present were Rooks County Senior Services members Rusty Hrabe and Leasa Hrabe, and Action Pact members Steve Shields and Bastiaan Stoffelen. The topic was Redbud Village.
